Your body secretes natural oil called sebum through the sebaceous glands. Due to hormonal shifts during the period of puberty or menstruation, excess oil is produced which gets stuck to the dead skin cells and clogs the skin pores. As a result, the skin below gets swelled facilitating the bacteria to grow rapidly. This swelling when oxidized, turns into blackheads.

For removing the blackheads, you can go in for steaming for 5 to 7 minutes, once or twice a week.

Mix one tea spoon of Epsom salt with 4 drops of iodine and quarter cup of hot water. Thereafter, dissolve the contents by heating mildly and allow it to cool down. When it is lukewarm, soak a cotton ball into it and then keep it on the affected area. Remove the mixture with a wash cloth after it gets dried.

You can use green tea as face scrub for loosening and removing your blackheads.

Baking soda works amazingly for removing the blackheads. You can take equal proportion of baking soda mixed with water and apply the same to the affected area to keep for not more than 2 to 3 minutes; otherwise unaffected skin tissues may be broken down. Thereafter, rinse your face gently with cold water. In case you make use of a warm wash cloth, make sure that it absorbs the mixture of its own.

Yet another better method for removal of blackheads is rinsing your face with warm water twice daily by using your astringent along with each cleansing.

If you have blackheads beneath your eyes, you must take utmost care for applying the home remedies because it is the most delicate and sensitive area. You may make a mixture with equal proportion of rose water, lavender and alcohol for removal of blackheads from your eyes. You should have patience because removal of blackheads from this area takes much time.

You can blend one tea spoon each of yogurt, fuller’s earth powder and mint powder. Then, allow the fuller’s earth and mint powder to soak for half an hour and apply on the affected area for 15 minutes. After it gets dried, cleanse it with lukewarm water, followed by a rinse by cold water.

Make a mixture of egg white, one tea spoon of fuller’s earth powder and few drops of peppermint extract and water. Thereafter, soak fuller’s earth powder in water for 30 minutes. Blend the egg along with other ingredients and mix the soaked fuller’s earth powder into the mixture. After applying the paste on your face leave for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
